8 December – Bethany Arrives
Wonderful news.
Jenny and Mark’s baby daughter, Bethany Rose, was born at 23 minutes past midnight on Friday 8 December in the Maternity Unit of Reading General Hospital.
Bethany weighed in at 8lb 9oz and is a really beautiful baby. Jenny had a long labour of just over 24 hours and was obviously very tired at the end of it but clearly overjoyed at Bethany’s safe arrival The birth went well but baby Bethany had to go to the Special Care Unit for 12 hours because of an infection and the need to give her a course of antibiotics. By noon today, Bethany was with Jenny back in their room on the normal ward. Annie and I were able to pop in for half an hour to see the new family Davidson and managed to take some photographs.
