Jenny and Mark Get Married

Saturday 21st January 2006 is a day to remember. The weather was dry and sunny even if a little cold and helped to make Jenny and Mark’s wedding the most fantastic event of the year!!! 200-01 Jenny.jpg
Jenny and dad arrived at Church on time (Gerry’s military background perhaps). Jenny looked absolutely beautiful in her dress and radiated happiness and did not stop smiling for the whole day. Gerry’s smile was as big as it could be as he walked Jenny down the aisle of the packed church followed by the lovely bridesmaids Lucy and Amy. The marriage ceremony was clearly important to Jenny and Mark and they made their vows clearly and with obvious love and affection. The whole service was very special and will be remembered for many things including Rev Brian Atkinson’s address using the fact that Jenny was baptised and confirmed at St Mary’s Church as well as singing in the choir for many years.

200-20 Cake.jpg The reception was held at the Royal Agricultural College in Cirencester and was magnificent. The meal, speeches and cake cutting all went perfectly and were followed by a brilliant fireworks display and a Ceilidh.

Music played an important part in the whole day, there were the choir’s anthems and Jo’s solo during the signing of the register, Jon’s keyboard serenade during the pre-reception drinks and then James singing during the evening. Jenny’s friend Rob also played during the evening.

We have not yet seen the official photographs but there are a few to browse through.

On the day after the wedding Annie and Gerry held an open house and were so pleased that as many as 80 people turned up. The real guests of honour were Jenny and Mark who had wanted to spend as much time with family and friends as possible and decided to delay the start of their honeymoon until the Monday. Annie had done the catering and so we need not have worried. There was plenty of lovely food and liquid refreshment for everyone although we were caught out by the number of requests for tea and coffee when guests were offered a drink when they arrived – it was probably a reflection on the night before!!

All in all, the whole weekend was superb, magnificent, perfect and as many superlatives as we can think of. It could not have gone as well without the support and help of many people. It is impossible to name every one but a special thank you to Mark’s parents Alex and Judith they have been so supportive and helpful over the last few months and Gerry really appreciated Alex’s help with the BBQ. Also a very special thank you to Jenny and Mark for deciding to get married and for their meticulous planning of the whole event.

All in all a fantastic weekend and we all wish Jenny and Mark Davidson every happiness in their future life together.

For the diehards there are more photographs of the family. At this stage there are so many photographs that we did not get. Hopefully friends and the photographers will fill in the gaps.
