Fairford – 17 Feb 2013
We have just enjoyed a few wonderful days where by coincidence we have managed to have lunch with Lucy and her James, then Jon and Jess and, finally, last Sunday Jen and Mark and the children. Jen brought the children over by car but Mark cycled the 42 miles from Caversham (He went back in the car). The children all sat down with us and ate a hearty lunch before an afternoon of playing with grandpa’s model railway, doing a Treasure hunt that Annie had devised.
It was a joy to watch as Bethany read the clues and she and Callum worked out where the next clue was to be found. Elsie chased around with them not understanding what the fuss was about and concentrating on the camera! The adults then walked, accompanied by the children on their scooters, to the Fairford Park where the children thoroughly enjoyed playing on the various fixtures.
It is amazing how quickly children grow up and how their confidence develops! All too soon it was time for the family to head back to Caversham.
